Australia supports its student whether they are domestic or international. Destination Australia Scholarship is also one of the ways to give funding to students who live in regional Australia. This program was first announced on 20th March 2019 as a part of the Australian Government’s Planning for Australia’s Future Population.
Destination Australia Scholarship plans to support remote and regional Australian tertiary schooling providers by elevation practices that lead to growth, development and sustainability. They will help Australian and international students to embrace high-quality education, training and research.
In 2020, 1180 scholarships were given by the Destination Australia Program through 35 providers at 81 areas located in regional Australia.
Australian schooling providers apply for the scholarship in online application form electronically through a process of competitive grants where the Community Grants Center handles the grant round. Qualification, application and other prerequisites for the grant round are set out in the Destination Australia Program 2021 guidelines.
Starting in 2021, higher education and vocational education providers in regional Australia can apply for grants of up to $15,000 a year for students to study on that campus. The main motive of the Destination Australia Scholarship for 2021 is to rebound from the impact of COVID-19 pandemic for both remote and regional Australian education providers.
The candidates are approached to present a statement on why they pick the specific grounds and how they plan to contribute to the nearby network after graduation. Likewise, proof of your residence claiming that you stay in the same regional area where the university is located.
You can apply for this scholarship through the Community Grants Hub.
Of all the received applications, 1000 plus most meriting students are selected from all over the universities. The asset is divided into two portions each year for the base number of years needed to finish the course.
The grant will be allocated equally amongst national and foreign students.
