Minimum requirements for International students

After the course completion, you can apply for a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) undergraduate stream. You will be expected to get Provisional Skills Assessment (PSA) from Trade Recognition Australia (TRA). Gradually, you need to enroll in Job Ready Program(JRP), Job Ready Employment(JRE), Job Ready Work Assessment (JRWA) and Job Ready Final Assessment (JRFA) respectively.  You can also apply for permanent residency through the points based on your stream.

Full Commercial Cookery Course

  • Cert III in Commercial Cookery

The one-year training course offers theory and practical training. All the students are asked mandatorily to work as a trainee in hotels, cafes, coffee shops, etc. for at least 10 weeks. You will be eligible to work as a qualified cook after completing this course.

  • Cert IV in Commercial Cookery

If you want to work as a qualified chef you will need to do a 6-month course, Cert IV in Commercial Cookery.

Subjects in the course include planning, preparing, presenting food like meats, appetizers, desserts, maintaining healthy protocols. Students are expected to do hands-on practical training in the fully functioning commercial training kitchens of the Australian Professional Skills Institute.
